Doosh and Sable & Minx to debut at Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2008!

My friends from Cocopr sent me this email regarding the Air New Zealand Fashion Week which Doosh and Sable & minx will have their debut on the said event. Here goes the info:

Designer Theresa Brady is over the moon to be involved in not one, but two group shows at this years Air New Zealand Fashion Week as the designer at streetwear company Urban Creative. The company has produced hugely successful label Doosh for 13 years and launched sophisticated label Sable & Minx during March last year.

“I couldn’t be more delighted at the extent of our involvement with Fashion Week this year,” says Brady. “Both labels offer two very different looks to create and style, but also two very unique experiences,” she says.

Doosh has shown previously at Fashion Week, but this year they will feature in a group show alongside other streetwear labels represented by Urban Creative’s PR and Showroom Company. “It has been fantastic to be involved in this project with the other labels,” says Brady. “We have ended up creating a little family, which has proven so supportive,” she says.

Sable & Minx was selected to take part in this year’s Verge Breakthrough Designer programme. “Being part of Verge has been a very valuable experience for me,” says Brady.

“Even though Sable & Minx is an established label in comparison to some who have been mentored by them in the past, I gained a great deal from the going through their boot camp and being involved in the spirit of their programme,” she says.

The label has also garnered support from web development company Solutionists. “Selling our apparel online is a priority for us and Solutionists are experts in that field,” says Brady. “Our involvement has been more like a partnership than a supplier/purchaser arrangement, and because they have done such a great job for me I want to share my positive experience with everyone!” she says.

“The entire process has been a fantastic learning curve, and I hope to put all that I have learnt into doing a solo Urban Creative show at next years Fashion Week.”
